Concept Art for Games

Introduction

Concept art uses specialist skills and knowledge within the digital and creative entertainment industries. There are three main areas: Programming and software engineering; art,concept and asset production; and game design studies, practice and theory. In this project I hope to achieve at least two of these main areas using both media and Art skills and if not, then at least to explore them in more detail.  




These concept art shows sketches of 3D modelling with diffraction in a characters Head piece and how they will look from different angles. This is showing the development of Art, concept and asset production.


Practice and Theory is used in this image as they test to add characters into a games poster. This would link in with the development of media as they are using advertisement to a specific targeted audience. 

Concept Art for Games often comes into enviroments as well developing different things 


Idea generatating Media


I looked at Nightmare Before Christmas as a Art style that is used through both games design and Media in the famous Tim Burton movie a Nightmare Before Christmas.This particular movie uses what most games design companies call Dark fantasy Art style. Games companies use this style to do art and concept work and animation called stop motion. Stop motion is also what they used in the film. 



My attempt at Dark fantasy concept Art for a movie or game this is character design.

This is a Character I had sketched that would fit in a similar environment. This shows a character that I'd call... His background story and information would be how he would impact the story.
